A must see place in old Damascus if you are a fan of museums, it an old palace from the ottoman period with beautiful architecture. Located in the old city and very close to Damascus Umayyad Mosque.
This amazing, modern museum has a bunch of old treasures showing the long history of Syria. Every thing's neatly arranged, the place is spotless, and it looks really cool and simple. The gardens outside are gorgeous and charming too. Just remember, no cameras allowed inside!

The Al-Hamidiyah Souq (Arabic: سوق الحميدية) is the largest and the central souk in Syria, located inside the old walled city of Damascus next to the Citadel. The souq starts at Al-Thawra street and ends at the Umayyad Mosque plaza, and the ancient Roman Temple of Jupiter stands 40 feet tall in its entrance.
Believed to date to sometime around 1160, the Hammam Nur al-Din is one of the oldest bathhouses in Damascus and is so well preserved it is still in use today. The public bathhouse of Damascus, also called “the Hammam” is a testament to Syria’s heritage, a tradition that has been an integral part of Syria’s culture for centuries.
